Smart toilets: rough-in and power

On this page
A smart toilet has to suit the drain in your floor and needs electrical power. Check both before you choose one.
Rough-in
The rough-in is the distance from the finished wall behind the toilet to the centre of the floor drain. Many homes in the United States have a 12-inch rough-in; 10-inch and 14-inch rough-ins are also found. Measure from the finished wall, not from the baseboard, and compare the result with the rough-in on the product page.
Power
A smart toilet plugs into an outlet near the toilet. Manufacturers generally ask for a grounded outlet with ground-fault protection; the product page and its installation documents give the exact requirement. A licensed electrician can add an outlet if there is none in the right place.
Water
Some models list a minimum water pressure. Check it on the product page.
Before you order
Nothing on this site confirms that a toilet fits your bathroom. Go over the requirements with your installer or plumber.

Each product page lists its own measurements and requirements. Check them against your bathroom before you order.
